About the Consultant and/or Company

Captiva Marketing was founded by marketing consultants Mark Forst and Bill Brasser. The company has a staff of thirteen people including web designers, programmers, and account managers that manage over 150 search engine marketing programs for clients in a wide variety of industries.

Mark Forst

As the president of Captiva Marketing, Mark brings over sixteen years of strategic marketing and eight years of SEO experience to the Captiva team. His primary work is in the industrial and B2B sectors where he works with a number of companies developing search friendly web sites as part of comprehensive search engine marketing programs.

Bill Brasser

As V.P. and partner in the firm, Bill brings over ten years of sales and marketing experience to the Captiva team. He has done an extensive amount of work for one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and one of the largest mortgage companies in the U.S.


Training and/or Education

In the Captiva Marketing team, we have assembled a team with a diverse set of talents. We are, however, a marketing firm at heart. Managing over ninety sites/campaigns, we are continually learning and refining our approach to organic optimization, PPC advertising management, and conversion enhancement.

Mark Forst holds a BS in Marketing from Miami University as well as an MBA from the Olin School of Business of Washington University. Before founding Captiva Marketing, he was the Director of Marketing for a global manufacturing company where he designed and implemented the company's web marketing strategy.

Bill Brasser holds a BS in Marketing from St. Louis University and an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University. He was formerly the marketing manager for the consumer products division of a St. Louis based manufacturing company.


Website and/or Graphic Design Experience

Search friendly design is a core competency of the Captiva Team and we have built over 80 web sites ranging from small ecommerce sites to corporate sites for large publicly held companies.

We take a unique approach to web design with the goal of creating sites that not only rank well in the search engines, but that also have clean navigation, a professional image, and a powerful marketing message.

We emphasize the importance of proper calls to action so that we can implement tracking systems to properly measure the performance of the site's that we build.

Our design staff primarily utilizes Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Macromedia Freehand and Dreamweaver to create sites.


Technical Experience

The Captiva team is skilled in most programming languages although the bulk of our work is done in straight html and static .asp due to their search friendly natures. For dynamic content, we utilize both .asp and .php. We also use a variety of other technologies including Flash and JSP to meet the design and functionality requirements of our clients.

We have a diverse group of clients although each partner/account manager focuses on a few industries. One of our primary specialities is industrial marketing where we service dozens of manufacturing companies.

Bill Brasser heads our medical/pharmaceutical efforts where he works with the world's third largest pharmaeutical company as well as a number of financial services companies.

We attribute much of our growth to providing extremely personalized service to all of our accounts. At Captiva Marketing, we do not treat SEM as simply the act of making a site algorithmically compliant. Our goal is to generate leads or sales for our clients in the most cost effective manner possible utilizing all aspects of search engine marketing.
