Training and/or Education

My fascination with computers began a long time ago. All through high school, university (I have an English B.A.), and beyond, I was working in computer stores, selling computer hardware. When the 386-SX was a new thing, I was a computer salesperson.

In 1995 when I first discovered the Internet, I honestly had no idea where it would lead, but I knew right then that I loved it. I started designing websites in 1995-96 doing contract web design work for several companies around the world from my home in Toronto. The web was just starting to receive mainstream notoriety then.

Search engine optimization and keeping up with that ever changing world, has been something of an obsession since those early days. The first website I created was The Muse's Muse Songwriting Resource (http://www.musesmuse.com/). If you're a songwriter or independent musician, or if you have a business that caters to these folks (I also accept advertising on the site). I hope you'll check it out.

Web Site and/or Graphic Design Experience

I'm not technically a graphic designer or web designer, but I have done this on occassion. If web design and graphic design are things you need, I also have contacts that do excellent work.

Technical Experience

I've worked as the advertising manager/web designer for a data recovery company, the marketing director for a gaming software development company, and as the director of online marketing services for a web design company. Besides the online marketing skills I've honed throughout the years, I've picked up a great many other skills. These include:

• Basic HTML coding and design.
• Copy writing for press releases and the web.
• Coordinating large web and press kit projects using both in-house and contracted resources.
• Creation of promotional items (pens, mouse pads, mugs, etc.)
• Handling advertising campaigns online and in print.
• Press release distribution through recognized newswire services.
• Creation of communities. I can help you implement things like message boards, polls, contests, etc. to get your visitors participating.
