How to BLOCK a Twit from Listing YOU.

Have you found yourself the victim of List Stalking? Are you on some Twit's Twitter List and you don't want to be? Well, there is a solution. It's a rather blunt approach but, it gets the job done.

Don't want to be on that List? BLOCK that Twit!

Unfortunately if the Twit in question is someone you Follow, you'll be nuking them from your Following/Followers and also BLOCKing them from viewing your Twitter Timeline publicly. There are workarounds for this but many don't know and it isn't really worth the effort unless of course you are in stalking mode (Covert Following on Twitter).

Note: You can also BLOCK and then UNBLOCK which will remove you from their List. You'll need to Follow that Twit again if you wish to keep them in your network. They'll get the notification that you are now Following them and may question why. Just let them know you didn't want to be on their List.

Report for Spam

It won't be long before we see List Abuse on a mass scale, I've already seen it on a smaller scale with the first round of beta testing. You can keep your area of Twitter clean by managing your Followers, Following, and your Lists, they work together in harmony. Some of my Followers are practicing my methods of BLOCKing and Removing Followers regularly to keep from boarding all the Follow Trains, and now, from becoming the latest List victims.

Twitter BouncerNow that Twitter Lists are available, you may want to seriously consider a Followers/Following purging and then using the BLOCK and Report for Spam functions regularly. Believe me, you'll appreciate not having to receive all the DMs, Mentions, etc.

When you BLOCK someone (or Report for Spam), you say Good-Bye to them until you UNBLOCK them. Their Mentions will not show up in your Mentions Timeline. They may or may not be able to view your public Timeline based on their knowledge of the Twitter Platform. Remember, there are plenty of ways to Follow someone who has BLOCKed you, most Twits are not aware of them.

Note: Using the BLOCK and Report for Spam functions sends Twitter a message. If enough Twits use these features, certain things happen to the account being BLOCKed and/or Reported for Spam.
